Adding fonts
- Easiest: copy a font file (.ttf or .otf) into the mod's fonts folder. With the mod folder connected (Save to the game, below), a box here shows Add it to the game: press it.
- Or press Show my fonts (Chrome or Edge) or Load a font file, then Trick names, Score or Number on the font you want, and Save to the game.
- Room for fonts: the HUD can show about 11 new fonts before it reloads. Fonts that are only in the list cost nothing, and saving from this page reloads the HUD, which starts the count again.
Fonts for the trick names, the score and the multiplier
Fonts show English letters, numbers and punctuation only. Very wide or decorative fonts are made smaller to fit ReSkate's 512 x 512 picture size.
Background picture
ReSkate shows pictures up to 512 x 512 pixels and 2 MB. Save to the game shrinks the picture you preview to fit and puts it in backgrounds\ for you. Its colour is the Background PNG tint part above; white keeps the picture's own colours.
Layout
Save to the game
Saving writes config.json, new fonts and your background picture into the mod folder. The HUD reloads within a few seconds and uses them.
No folder access (other browsers, or the online copy): press Download as .zip and unzip it into Mods\CustomHUD\, or for colours only, copy config.json into that folder and press Presets > Import config.json in the game.
You can also edit the text above or paste a config into it; the preview follows.
